Cloud-based orthodontic practice management by Planet DDS
Log In to Cloud 9 Ortho
Open your browser and navigate to your Cloud 9 Ortho practice URL — typically in the format yourpractice.cloud9ortho.com. Enter your administrator or office manager username and password and click "Log In". Cloud 9 Ortho is fully web-based.
Tip:
Cloud 9 Ortho is part of the Planet DDS family. If your practice also uses Denticon, the login portal is different — Cloud 9 Ortho has its own separate access.
Navigate to Reports
In the top navigation bar, click "Reports". The Cloud 9 Ortho reporting hub will open with categorized reports.
Select Patient Report
Within the Reports section, look for a "Patient" or "Patient Management" category. Click "Patient Report" or "Patient List" to open the patient report configuration screen.
Configure Filters for Full Patient List
On the report configuration screen, set Patient Status to "All Patients" to capture active patients currently in treatment, patients who have completed treatment, and recall/observation patients. In orthodontic practices, "Active" means currently in treatment. Completed and recall patients are equally valuable for referral and retention campaigns. Set Date Range to "All Time".
Tip:
In orthodontics, completed patients and recall patients are prime candidates for sibling referrals and retainer check reminders. Include them all.
Run and Export the Report
Click "Run Report" or "Generate". Once the patient list loads, look for an "Export" button near the top of the results. Click it and choose "CSV" or "Excel". The file will download to your computer.
Send to MedMasters
Upload the exported file using the secure MedMasters upload link provided by your account manager. Let your account manager know this is an orthodontic practice export — the status labels (Active, Completed, Recall) will be handled appropriately.
Note:
Do not email patient data. Always use the secure MedMasters upload portal.
Which MedMasters data fields are available in this EHR export.
Cloud 9 Ortho serves orthodontic practices — many patients are minors, so contact information is the parent/guardian's phone and email
"Active" in Cloud 9 Ortho specifically means currently in orthodontic treatment — not just an open patient file
Completed, Recall, and Observation patients are inactive but still valuable for referral and retainer-related campaigns
Cloud 9 Ortho is now owned by Planet DDS — same parent company as Denticon for general dentistry
For orthodontic practices, always export all treatment statuses (Active, Completed, Recall, Observation) — each group has different campaign potential
Guardian contact information is more important than patient contact for minors — confirm the export includes parent/guardian phone and email columns
Completed patients from 2-3 years ago are excellent targets for sibling and referral outreach
