Dental practice management by Patterson Dental
Open Eaglesoft on an Office Computer
Eaglesoft is a Windows-only installed application sold by Patterson Dental. Launch it from your Windows desktop icon or Start Menu. Log in with your admin or office manager credentials. The Eaglesoft main screen shows your practice dashboard with appointment and patient information.
Note:
Eaglesoft is not web-based — you must be on an office computer with Eaglesoft installed, or use Remote Desktop. Contact Patterson Dental support at 1-800-294-8504 if you cannot locate the software on your computer.
Click "Reports" in the Top Menu Bar
In Eaglesoft's top menu bar (the menu that spans across the top of the application window), click "Reports". A large dropdown menu will appear showing all report categories including Patient, Clinical, Practice Analysis, and more.
Navigate to Patient → Patient Reactivation Report
In the Reports dropdown, hover over "Patient" to see patient report options. Look for "Patient Reactivation Report" or "Inactive Patient Report". This report was specifically designed to identify patients who have not returned — it includes all contact information and last visit dates.
Tip:
If you do not see "Patient Reactivation Report", look for "Patient List" or "Inactive Patients" — these are alternative paths to the same data.
Configure the Report Filters
The Patient Reactivation Report opens with a dialog showing filter options. For MedMasters, we want ALL patients (not just those overdue for recall). Configure as follows: Set the "Last Visit" date range to include ALL patients (remove or widen the date filter). Set Patient Status = "All" or leave as default. Make sure email, mobile phone, and insurance fields are selected.
Tip:
The default Reactivation Report may filter to only patients not seen for 12+ months. For MedMasters, remove that filter to get ALL patients — we will handle the segmentation.
Generate and Locate the Export Option
Click "Preview" or "Generate". The report will appear in a preview window. Now look carefully for the export option — Eaglesoft hides the export in the Print dialog. In the report preview toolbar, look for a printer icon or "Print" button. Click it. The Print dialog that opens will have an option to "Export" or "Save as File" instead of printing.
Note:
Eaglesoft's export function is accessed through the Print dialog — NOT a dedicated Export button. If you click Print and it goes directly to your printer, look for a "PDF" or "Export" option in the Print dialog before clicking OK.
Tip:
Look for an "Export to Excel" or "Send to Excel" button in the report preview toolbar — some Eaglesoft versions (16+) have a direct Excel export without going through Print.
Save as CSV or Excel
In the export dialog, choose "Excel (.xlsx)" or "CSV (.csv)" format. Select a save location (Desktop is easiest to find). Click Save or Export. Open the file in Excel to verify the data before sending.
Tip:
If prompted about format, Excel is easier to review before sending. Both Excel and CSV formats are accepted by MedMasters.
Send to MedMasters
Upload the file using the secure MedMasters upload link. Do not email the file.
Note:
Do not email patient data. Use only the secure MedMasters upload link provided by your account manager.
