Chiropractic practice management — Desktop and Cloud versions
Identify Desktop vs. Cloud Before Starting
Eclipse comes in two versions: Eclipse Desktop (a Windows application installed on your office computers, launched from a desktop icon) and Eclipse Cloud (accessed via web browser). The interfaces are significantly different. Desktop users follow Steps 2–4. Cloud users skip to Step 5.
Tip:
If you can access Eclipse from a web browser at any computer, you are on the Cloud version. Cloud exports are easier and include column headers.
DESKTOP: Open the Report Generator
In the Eclipse Desktop application, look at the top menu bar. Click "Reports". A dropdown menu will show report options including "Report Generator", "Patient Reports", and "Patient List". Click "Report Generator" — this is the most flexible export tool in Eclipse Desktop.
Tip:
Eclipse Cloud users: skip to Step 5.
DESKTOP: Configure Patient Export Fields
In the Report Generator, you will see a list of available data fields on the left and selected fields on the right. Add all of the following to the export: Last Name, First Name, Cell Phone, Home Phone, Email Address, Last Visit Date, Active/Inactive Status, Visit Count. Then click "Run Report" or "Generate".
DESKTOP: Export and Check for Missing Headers
After the report runs, click "Export to File" or "Save as CSV". Save the file. Then open it in Excel. Check Row 1 — if it shows a real patient's last name (not a column label), the file has no headers. Document the column order and include it in your message to MedMasters.
Note:
Eclipse Desktop exports may not include column headers. If Row 1 contains patient data instead of column names, write down the column order: "Col A = Last Name, Col B = First Name, Col C = Cell Phone, Col D = Home Phone, Col E = Email, Col F = Last Visit, Col G = Status".
Tip:
Use Cloud if available — it's much easier than Desktop.
CLOUD: Navigate to Reports
In Eclipse Cloud (web browser version), click "Reports" in the top or left navigation. The Cloud interface is more modern than Desktop — the navigation is cleaner. You will see a Reports hub with categories.
Tip:
Cloud users start here.
CLOUD: Select "Patient Summary" Report
Under Patient Reports, click "Patient Summary" or "Patient List". This report includes all demographic and contact information. Set Status = "All" to include both active and inactive patients. Click "Generate" or "Run Report".
CLOUD: Export to CSV
After the report generates, click "Export to CSV" in the report toolbar. Cloud exports include column headers automatically — the first row will be properly labeled. Upload to MedMasters via the secure link.
Tip:
Cloud exports are significantly easier than Desktop — if you have access to both, always use Cloud.
Which MedMasters data fields are available in this EHR export.
Desktop version may export without column headers — always verify Row 1 in Excel after export
Desktop and Cloud have significantly different interfaces — confirm your version before following steps
Cloud version exports include headers and are much simpler — use Cloud if available
For Desktop exports without headers, document the column order in your message to MedMasters
Got your export? Now what?
The Storage & Handoff Playbook covers verifying, securing, and using the data for compliance, migration, or analytics.
